Meet the Founder
Nael has spent more than 30 years in consumer goods with Pepsi Cola International, Reckitt Benckiser and Abudawood Trading Company, including 14 years with full profit-and-loss responsibility as CEO and Country Manager.
Much of his career has been about rebuilding businesses. At Abudawood, he took over an acquired business that was making substantial losses and, with his team, returned it to profit. Over the following nine years it delivered profits above the board’s expectations, and revenue more than tripled to US$430 million. Together they built a culture that independent business-school surveys consistently rated the best place to work in Pakistan. They also developed leaders across every function and ran the country’s largest management trainee program.
Earlier, he doubled Reckitt Benckiser Sri Lanka in four years and brought it back to profit, and rebuilt Reckitt Benckiser’s distribution in Pakistan. At Pepsi, he led the task force that countered Coca-Cola’s relaunch; Pepsi grew its share and stayed market leader. In 2019 he was featured in the book 100 Best Performing CEOs and Companies.
Through Nael & Associates, he works with business owners, boards and leadership teams as a fractional CEO, interim leader or adviser. His work covers turnaround and restructuring, growth and go-to-market, culture and leadership, and transition and succession.
